RICHARD D. JOHNSON
RJ Engineering & Consulting, Inc. is owned and lead by Richard D. Johnson. Mr. Johnson has over 20 years experience in commercial and residential construction and engineering services on a variety of public and private projects. Richard has extensive experience in designed and construction of roadways, buildings, geohazard evaluation and mitigation and excavation shoring.
Richards Areas of Expertise
- Design and construction of shoring systems such as soil nail, micropile, pile and lagging and tieback walls in extreme terrain.
- Specialty foundation design such as micropiles, geopiers, helical piers, push piles, etc.
- Geotechnical investigations for private and public facilities.
- Evaluation and mitigation of unstable rock and soil slopes.
- Geohazard evaluation and mitigation for landslides, debris flows, swelling and collapsible soils.
BEN ARNDT
Ben Arndt recently joined RJ Engineering to provide clients with thoughtful and creative senior level geotechnical evaluation and design for foundations, retaining walls, rockslopes, rockfall, and landslides. Ben is committed to applying his experiences and background in geological and civil engineering to all phases of a geotechnical project to provide a higher level of service. Ben has experience in multiple sectors of transportation, mining, commercial and designed contractor systems.
Bens Areas of Expertise
- Landslides. Evaluation, Analysis and Design to develop mitigation systems that include: couple drilled shafts, lightweight geofoam, ground anchors, aggregate columns, micropile systems, deep-patches, and buttresses.
- Rockfall and Rockslope Stability. Evaluation, Analysis and Design to develop mitigation systems that include: attenuators, rockfall barrier fences and walls, draped and pinned mesh, rock bolting, blasting, polyurethane resin (PUR) rock glue, and catchment ditches.
- Retaining Walls. MSE, Soil Nail, Ground Anchor, Soldier Pile and Lagging, Welded Wire, Internally Braced, and Micropile.
- Foundation Systems. Micropiles for axial and lateral systems, drilled shafts, aggregate columns, and reinforced earth.
